Journal is an understated personal blog joomla template with a variety of soft and subtle colour schemes. Its the ideal joomla template if you are looking for an elegantly designed layout to showcase your online social network.
template feature overview
Let's get social
The Journal template is a Joomla template with a focus on being social. The template is set up to display your tweets, flickr image, music from lastfm and blog posts in a simple vertical layout with a subtle gradient shadow for extra depth.
Some social icons to make linking simple
There are six static/fixed links fixed to the top right corner of the Journal Joomla template. The icons are controlled from within the Joomla template itself and are perfect for creating hot links to your social network or pages on your website.
Built on version 1.1 of the Zen Grid Framework
journal is built on the 1.1 version of the Zen Grid Framework. The framework provides amazing control over all manner of elements on your website and version 1.1 adds some significant new features and improvements that make controlling your website easier. For a full run down of whats new please check the journal bug post and stay tuned for updated docs highlighting the new features. Please note that journal is only compatible with the Zen Grid Framework v1.1.
Tabs, sliders, split menus and more
Some of our Joomla templates in the past have featured tabbed and sliding modules but now they are a part of the core framework which means that journal and any other v1.1. compatible template will come ready with the ability to slide and tab your modules right out of the box.
50+ Module Positions
There are 50+ module positions in this template and because its built on the Zen Grid framework it means that the module positions are the same as used in all of our other zen grid framework compatible themes. This means less overhead in learning where the positions are as well as learning how to configure them.
We are big fans of the K2 component for Joomla and every front end template we have released this year has come replete with a full K2 template. K2 is often described as Joomla 1.6 for Joomla 1.5 but in a nutshell it provides extra functionality that extends the content options and potential for Joomla.
For more information regarding K2 check the main K2 site.
